Prints for Sale

I've selected some of my favorite and best artwork and have tried to make the prices both reasonable and still worth all the work I am putting into this.

I will also be having a little art show at my church so that the community can view the prints and place orders in person.

I am finally taking a big step with my photography! I hope it pays off. :) My dad even made business cards for me. sweet!

progress

Yeah I am moving to Japan! (not sinking in)

Less than two months away! (not sinking in)

So much to do! (not sinking in)

How am I going to afford all of this? (not sinking in)

I need a TON of new clothes--a whole new wardrobe! (not sinking in)

How am I going to fit my life into two suitcases? (not sinking in)

Here is the comprehensive schedule of the last forty-eight days of my life in America... (Sinking. Like a massive, rapid, jagged rock--in my throat, ripping; in my stomach, aching.)

I am leaving, leaving,

leaving.

Preparation Part 2: Cooking & Seaweed Bathing

I've explored Uwajimaya a few times now, trying to become vaguely familiar with what may be available to me in Japan.
Last time, my friend Thatcher bought me these Yamaimo Soba noodles, and I cooked about a third of them for a late lunch today. They were delicious! My sister added butter to hers, and I added cilantro which ended up tasting pretty delicious. :) I took a ton of photos (of course) and look forward to taking more as my cooking adventures continue!

Thatcher also bought me seaweed and instructed me to boil it and bathe in the broth... so I am off to try that one out! Apparently it is a Japanese beauty secret, or he just made it up, but either way I am excited to test it out. ;)

I found out!!

I am going to Okinawa!!!!!!!
I was kind of (really) hoping to be placed with Nikolina, but she is a little further north on the island of Tokushima. It is still south of the main island, but not as far south as my island. I am trying to figure out travel between the islands, but have only found really expensive flights so far. :S

But, Okinawa is GORGEOUS!

This is where I am going to live!

Things you need to know:

-Okinawa prefecture consists of 161 islands (!!!), but only 44 are inhabited. (I hope I get placed on the main island!
)

-It is located in the subtropical zone and is often compared to Hawaii (sweet! time to get in bathing suit shape. ;))

-The average temperature is about 70 degrees (wahoo!)

-It rains more than half of the days of the year (thank you, Seattle, for the preparation)

-There are typhoons (scared face)

-Japan's sister city is in Washington (Lakewood, wherever that is.)

-There is a restaurant in a tree!

(I am sooo going to eat there!
)

Here are a bunch of places to visit in Okinawa. Book your flights now! :)

Preparation: Part 1

I still don't know where I am going. ee!

I read the entire manual they sent me from cover to cover and just finished watching the helpful DVD, but I still haven't figured out the IRS forms. *doom, doom*

I am seriously excited.

I've started shopping for business attire, but need so much more.

I have started raising money for the first month, but need SO much more!

I have started studying Japanese, but need so, so, SO much more!!

:) I am excited.

location, location

I want to know where I am going in Japan so that I can find swing dancing events there.

Or start planning them.

:)

Just a few more days? weeks?

Free Pass?

Is it awful that I am using my upcoming departure as a free pass to... well, whatever I want?

You don't want to go out tonight? But I am only in Seattle for two more months!
This assignment is due tomorrow? But how can I focus on anything but JET?
You want me to clean? But I have to pack for Japan!
Japan is not a good excuse anymore? But I am moving to the other side of the world!

Okay, this isn't entirely true. But almost.

Don't like it? But... I will soon be gone.. for one year or... forever. *puppy dog eyes*
